Adprep prompt adding 2008 DC to 2003 domain -> the the first 2008 DC

I'm trying to add a new 2008 R2 DC to a 2003 (native) domain. This not the first 2008 DC in the domain yet I'm getting a failure because it says I have to run adprep /forestprep. But I shouldn't have to do that again, should I? The first 2008 DC is not R2, does that make a difference? Does anybody know if I run adprep again how it will affect Exchange 2003 (sp2)?

Yes, you need to do it if it's the first R2 DC.
