ADP security

I recently upsized an Access database to SQL Server 2000. All of the Access tables, macros and queries have been migrated and the application works fine.

I have now been asked to implement security so that different people have different access permissions in the adp.

Specifically, I would like to ensure that users cannot see any of the stored procedures.

What is the best way to implement this?

Well, create the roles and users on the SQL server, then assign rights to the roles.
Users will still be able to see the list of procedures they have the right to execute in the database window, but won't be able to see the definition or to make changes.
To avoid 'curiosity' you can hide the database window, but there is no harm done in seeing a list of 'cryptic' names.

Not like Access security, where tables and queries are really difficult to secure...

They can also see the definitions of stored procedures that they have permission to Execute, but they can't modify them. As far as VBA modules go, you can set up a password so they can't see them.
