I'm getting a "registration has expired" message and the program won't load. Tried uninstalling, reinstalling; nothing. Adobe won't give me a new serial # because I can't find proof of purchase. I just upgraded to XP. Ran a virus scan, nothing helps.

Did you register Photoshop (ps: Adobe is the name of the Company, they make a lot of products, of which Photoshop is just one), If so they will have a record of you and will supply support.

If not, contact them and give them the details you have [serial # etc) or install it on another pc(remember[b/] to remove the App after) and register it from there.
I haven't had any trouble with Photoshop, so besdides registering, I've never had to contact them.

There are other members of the forum who have, maybe they will be able to help some more.

Moe: It could have been a real ugly situation, but luckily I managed to shoot him in the spine.

I did contact them about Photoshop specifically. They refused to give me a new registration without proof of purchase, which I no longer have or can't find. I guess they figure I pirated it, which I did not. However, I was browsing the net and found a person who had pirated it and gave a link to the crack code. It worked. I'd rather not use a crack code but I got pretty angry because I paid a lot of $$$ for that program! I'll try your suggestion...however when I tried to register it online again I got page can't be displayed. Thanks for your advice!

If you used a credit card, you can go to the cc company to get a record of the transaction.

Something sounds fishy... registrations don't expire except on Beta versions. If you bought a beta accidentally, you were ripped off.

If you Have CS which requires activation, you can activate it on 2 machines, and wouldn't get that message. If you activated on more than 2 machines, you cannot do that, but I don't think you get the 'expired' message.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

It does indeed sound fishy. I bought it on Ebay when version 7 first came out, at a reduced price. I think I saved about $150. Adobe says Ebay isn't an approved seller. But it was all boxed and I did register it. Didn't look Beta to me. I'm at a loss. I finally used the crack code (feeling like a total thief) and it works. But I shouldn't have to resort to such a thing. Software piracy makes me sick. So I guess since I bought it through Ebay who isn't an authorized retailer, they won't do diddly even if I had a receipt.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.

If the person that sold it had it registered at one time, they are the ones that need to contact Adobe to switch registration.

Beta copies do not come packaged in boxes and shrinkwrapped and all.

When buyinf software on ebay, it is always caviat emptor.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
