Adobe Printing Problems on Citrix :-(

We are trying to print pdf documents over a 56k connection at our office locations around the state. The users are connecting to the Citrix servers using MaxSpeed Maxterm terminals.

When we try to print the pdf documents it takes a document 30 minutes to print the first page! We tried to enable speed screen but that only makes the pages pop-up quicker on the screen. The weird thing is that a word document prints in a minute or so.....

We have tried to update the printer drivers. Is there some utility that can compress the print jobs and that can run a terminal? becuse the terminals can't cache anything locally, it takes them forever to print a document.

Can anyone help me please?

If you are using HP Deskjet printer at the remote site, install the standard HPDESKJET driver locally on the client machine. Then install the standard HPDESKJET driver on the server. When the user logs on thru a ICA session they should now have another autocreated client printer called HPDESKJET. Have the user use that printer when printing thru an ICA session. This should speed up your remote printing. The downside is that color printing will not work.

You can try editing the module.ini file on the client.(I have had varied results with this) Under the [ICA 3.0] heading change the Bufferlength to:

Bufferlength=8192

Under the [ClientPrinterPort] and [ClientPrinterQueue]headings change these:

Windowsize=2048
MaxWindowsize=8192
