I have recently obtained a copy of the new Adobe Photoshop CS3 version. Although I can save a photo, in which I have done graphics to, I CANNOT save a photo that has a background and another layer on it. Can someone please tell me why this is so and can someone please help me? THanks

It it's a legal copy I can't think of any reason why you can't unless your preferences are hosed and need to reset to default values.

While holding down [ CTRL + Alt + Shift ]

Start Photoshop

Answer the question to delete the preferences file YES

thanks...but i have another question

my brush changed to a crosshair...and i dont know what i did. HOw do i get it back so its a circle?

sorry...i have one more question. I got a book using CS2, but I don't know where the section is. Do you know off hand how do set a background picture...delete say a person in the background pic, but somehow retain the background without any holes in it? Basically how do you erase something from a pic, so like it was never there without disrupting the actual picture?

If you remove something from a picture (an old girlfriend etc) you leave a hole.

To fill the hole you can try to use the stamp tool, the healing tool and the patch tool.

Basically you want to fill the hole with the surrounding area. Kinda like doing a skin graft.

Depending on the background it can be easy or very difficult.

It may be easier to "make-up" with the old girlfriend.

Anyway do some research on the tools I mentioned.

good luck

all right...will do, and thanks for the advice of the girl. Might have to make amends now

I"m sorry...but i'm a noob and i dont have an instruction manual for Photoshop. But one more thing...for TEXT when you do the CLT- T thing to highlight a layer, for text can you do perspective changes to it...cause I can't seem to be able to. Thank you again.

i dont have an instruction manual for Photoshop.

A manual always comes with the legitimately purchased program.

Tek-Tips forums are not designed to (nor is the average user here willing to) write a manual for you.

The variety and simplicity of your questions indicate that a read of the manual would be ideal.
