Citrix Metaframe 1.8 (SP3) on NT 4 with SP6.......

Getting the following error in Event Viwer when trying to start Acrobat Reader, the Reader starts loading and displays the initial screen where it indicates it is loading .api files then this screen just closes....

Anybody seen this before.....???

We've re-installed, re-applied service pack, checked pagefile, registry size, permissions, etc...

Error is.....

Application popup: Font Capture: AcroRd32.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory
could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the application

Any help appreciated, thanks.......

Have you tried using Filemon and Regmon from Sysinternals to see if there are any access denied entries on files or registry keys when you do a capture when Acrobat Reader i started?

Tried checking with these this morning, cant see anything obvious, no FAILED or Access Denied messages.....

Getting a few BUFOVRFLOW entries in regmon, but it appears to be the same on a working server....????

Found this post in the Citrix support forum. Maybe this will help you.

Adobe Reader generates Dr. Watson or App Event Log error when run

If you install Adobe Acrobat Reader 5 (or earlier) on either a Win 2k or NT system (regardless of it being server or workstation) and it doesn?t want to start past the splash screen (and possibly gives you a Dr. Watson error), go to the folder ?X:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\Reader\plug_ins\InterTrust? (where X is the drive installed upon) and delete the file DOCBOX.API. DO NOT RENAME it as that will not work. If your path is not similar to the previously mentioned path, look for the afore mentioned file in the INTERTRUST folder.

Neither Adobe nor Microsoft had this issue listed. Thanks to Google Groups for the answer! (a.k.a. Deja ?
FYI - The error you get will most likely be this.
Font Capture: AcroRd32.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x00000000".
The memory could not be "read".

Thanks to PLM for sharing this.

Hope it helps

Thanks hof, worked perfectly..........

Didn't find that post in the Citrix forums....??!!!

We have has simular problems so we contact Adobe who say that Acrobat products are not designed for Citrix and thats why we get the errors, later versions will be tested for a multiuser environment.

This is probably the only error we have experienced with Acrobat (why did I say that...!!).....We have it installed on several Citrix Servers......

What errors are you getting Glyn2K.....?????
