I read this tip about using a DBCombo to have a hidden field (as a bound column) and another as the ListField. But the DBCombo works only with the Data Control not the ADO Data Control. I hunted for but could not find a combo control that bound to ADO DataControl. Any suggestions?

The control you need to use is the datacombo found in
Microsoft DataList Controls 6.0 (sp3)
You set the RowSource to the adodc. Set the listfield to the column you want to show and the bound column to the ID field (hidden field)

Where do you find these Microsoft DataList Controls 6.0 (sp3)???

Thanks, I found the controls and managed to do what I wanted too.

If you have vb6 you will find in the components list. (ctrl-T). Previous versions of vb will not have.
