Hi,
I installed the adminpack on a member server in win2k domain. But when i try to view the Active directory users and computers from the admin tools it says " the corresponding server is not available " How to resolve this?
Here is what i tried . When i try to change the DNS server IP to my DC IP(LAN) it sees the active directory users on the server but when i try to restart my system after the change of DNS server IP (which is now the ISP ) -- the member server is not logging into the system. It simply says " The local policy of this machine doesnot permit u to logon interactivley ".
How to proceed in this scenario .

thanks in advance

the error about logging on interactively means you don't have the right to log on locally to that machine.

Are you using DHCP? Check and make sure it is handing out the address to your DNS. Also check your DNS to make sure it has the service records for your Domain Controller.

hi,
I am not using DHCP and also DNS is fine. Can u tell me how to resolve this .
My member server is fine as long as the DNS is not changed to Domain Controller IP (on the LAN).If i change the DNS to DC IP then it pops up the error " the local policy does not permit u to logon interactively "
Do i have to really change the DNS entry to DC IP of the LAN to view the Active directory users and computers on the member server ? Or is there any other way to workaround this issue

i am also have same issue, when itry to logon locally to the DC, i am using DNS but there is no DHCP , pls help

Waiting!
