We are having one of many issues with our Crystal Report cluster.
We are attempting to clear out old users and the Administrator account does not appear to have the ability to delete the users (the checkbox to select for delete is grayed out)
Has anyone experienced this before and does anyone have a fix or work around for this issue?
Thanks,
Greg Davis

Which tools/version are you using...?

Crystal Enterprise (8.5, 9.0, 10)
Crystal Report Server XI
Business Objects Enterprise XI

Are you using the Enterprise ADMINISTRATOR account - or another account with "administrator" rights...?

1.) Are these groups/users native within ENTERPRISE or are they being pulled-in from another source like WinNT groups...?

2.) Are you using the Enterprise ADMINISTRATOR account - or another account with "administrator" rights...?

bluem: You're not answering mjrbim's questions, please take the time to read the posts and respond.

I would guess that he is on to the core issue, either you are inheriting the users, which means you need to delete them from there, or you aren't using the CE Administrator account.

1. User accounts are domain account but the ones we are wanting to delete are in the Manage users section of the CMC
2. we are using the Enterprise Administrator account.

More info:
When we are in the Manage Users section of the CMC (logged in as the EA) we cannot select the users for deletion (either the box doesn't exist or it is grayed out/unselected)

You can ONLY remove ENTERPRISE accounts from the USERS section of the CMC.

If you have imported DOMAIN accounts from WinAD or WinNT, you need to go into the AUTHENTICATION section of the CMC - and manage the Mapped Groups (Add / Remove) from there.

If you only want to update "specific-users" within a mapped domain group, then you need to remove them in their Source (WinAD or WinNT) and then UPDATE the authentication in the CMC.

We've cleaned up the users in the WinNT source but they are still in the CMC. What is the proper method of updating the authentication in CMC? (we inherited this app with no documentation)

1.) Go into the AUTHENTICATION section of the CMC.

2.) Select WinNT tab.

3.) Scroll to the bottom - click UPDATE.

That should re-sych the accounts to your WinNT source.

================

FYI - Crystal Enterprise 9 is no longer patch supported by the vendor, and the Technical Support Lifecycle End Date is April 01, 2007. You should be planning your upgrade ASAP.
