2 days ago I made a change on My machine (XP Pro SP2) using the Group Policy Snap in(Microsoft Group Policy Manager with SP1). My DC is a Windows 2000 server SP4.
Since then when I try to edit the group policy, the Administrative Template folder is empty on both the Computer and User configuration.
When I click add/remove template it will sometimes show them all attached, and other times it will show nothing. When it shows nothing, and I try to add them in, I get an error message saying it can't copy the file, as if it were loaded.
I ran a report and it shows everything, so I know it's all there. When I log on to the domain, I see the change in my event log. I can go to any DC in my domain and try to edit the policy, and the Administrative template is empty.
Should I restore the policy directory? just the registry.pol? Run out the door screaming? Or should I wait for the angry mob with the torches and pitchforks?
Any help would be appreciated.
