Admin console on PCs

Can anyone tell me if/how I can install or configure the administrator console on a few PCs so we can use the SMS info without having to jump on the server? Note: Our local domain, although on the same LAN is in a different Windows 2000 domain.

If you put the SMS CD into one of your Workstations it tells you that you cant install SMS on that machine but gives you one option, which is to install the Admin Console.

Watch out when it asks you for your SMS Site Server, just put in the Server Name, without any \\'s. I got caught out on that a few times.

Thanks - I tried this but the setup just exited. Do you know if there's an exe file on the CD I could run which would install it?

Hmmm nearest i cant find the individual program for setting up the SMS console, but on your SMS server in SMS_(site code)\bin\i386 is a setup program which MS say you can use to set up the Admin Console.

Which OS is the workstation you are installing it onto?

P.S you mentioned the server being on a different domain, so when you tell it which server SMS is on you will probably have to put DOMAIN\servername
