Admin and smdr help

yup its me im back 1 more time..... i was trying to connect the smdr to com 1 and the admin to com 2 so i could run them at the same time com 1 work fine on both the smdr and the admin ports but com 2 wont work on either of the ports...is there some settings i need to change i looked at both the port settings through device manager and they were the same.....will the ports even work on com 2 or is this another one of partners short comings.....if it is possible could i get some advive on how to do it......thanks alot everyone this site is a god sent

Well, the Partner doesn't control the serial ports on your computer. The ACS Remote Administration software gives you the choice of Com1 or Com2 on a direct connect, and you don't say what you are using for capturing SMDR. If just Hyperterminal, that also lets you choose the com port for a direct serial connection.

yeah i know im using hyperterminal i was wondering if both the smdr and admin ports can communicate at the same time. and is there a setting that only allows them to communicate through port 2

There's no limitation on the ACS that would prevent you from receiving SMDR while programming through the ADMIN port.

I would get SMDR working through Hyperterminal on Com2 first, then you should be fine doing admin through Com1
