I am trying to turn down the volume that is heard when you dial the keys on a 6408 set. People that dial hands free are complaining that the touch tones are too loud. Does anyone know how I can turn it down? I tried:
ch terminal-parameters for 6400 and changing the levels on the speaker touch tone volume but nothing changed.

Thanks!

Did you try to adjust the volume of the telsets of the users? Volume control on the phone itself will adjust this.

yes, tried that, it only decreased the volume of the person speaking... but it didn't lower the touch tone volume.

ltw500,

volume adjusting buttons on 64xx series work both for voice volume and speaker/buttons volume. if you press these buttons on a call you'll adjust voice volume, if you try to press 'em on-hook you'll adjust speaker/buttons.

If I adjust the volume while on hook, it just does the ring volume... touch tone volume always stays the same.
