Our adic i2k robotics failed - using LTO3 tapes - we no longer have maintenance :(. We were able to add disk to our networker server in order to continue backups, but now we have a restore request from prior date. I have a adic scalar 24 - does anyone know how i can get a restore to a different library .. i really don't want to re jbconfig because then i would lose the slots of about 900 tapes . and don't want to have to look manually for each tape anytime someone needs a restore. Just trying to think of other options. THank you for your help

Hello,

i really don't want to re jbconfig because then i would lose the slots of about 900 tapes
Can you explain what you understand by 'rejbconfig' ?
Slots can be recovered with an inventory command (with -II)

If you don't want to look manually for each tape needed, the only way you can do is to populate a new (or existing) library with the tapes contained in your scalar and then perform an inventory (with a jbconfig, if new).

If you need a tape for restore, networker finds it automatically. If you need to look for a tape manually use mminfo.
Yo dont need your old library slot config for this.
Nevertheless you cann add a new library to your networker server and only configure your tape e.g. \\.\Tape0 or /dev/nst0 etc. an treat theam as single tapes.

Move the needed media via webinterface of the scalar24 into the drive and networker will start the recover.
Networker will tell you which media is needed ! Look at alerts in mmc, there appears the message "WAITING FOR .....
