Hello, recently we have been having a problem where if our restaurant puts in the information for a delivery and then the first item the customer orders is deleted when the order is printed out the contact and delivery information for the customer seems to have been deleted as well. It has happened on other occasions but it seems to happen most when the first order on the ticket gets voided. Of course we can not tell if this is happening or not because when you start putting an order in the delivery information disappears on the screen. Looking the check up in the daily journals also does not produce the information. We simply have to wait for the customer to call back and ask where their order is and explain to them there was a computer error which is an inconvenience for both the customer and the restaurant. When we explained this to the technician who set up our system he simply said he had not seen the problem before (which was a great help :/) It had stopped occurring for a while but now it seems to be happening again. Can anyone tell me how to get the delivery information back after this has happened or prevent this so that it does not happen anymore? Thank You

I know it isn't really a good solution, but I'm not at work (and only on here because I had to whip out my work laptop to fix a site that deleted their primary touchscreen *facepalm*), so I can't really play around with the Delivery system to try and reproduce your problem... but you could consider adding a Modifier called Address that requires a reference.. not a great solution, but at least it would be guaranteed to show up on the check while you work out the problem...

Thank you Moregelen. Unfortunately the problem still seems to be happening. How would I go about adding a modifier?

Sorry, still no answers on my end as I rarely use GSS and haven't seen this bug; might want to try asking the Yahoo! Group.

To add the Address menu item, create a new menu item class (just copy and paste the one you are using now, and then just check Reference required). Then create a menu item called Address Field or something similar, make it the menu item class you just created, and set its price to 0. Then change the print class so it only prints where you want it (the customer receipt, right?). Now when they hit the menu item Address Field, it requires they enter something.

I'll write a SIM to do this more neatly when I get to work, but for now, that should work.

Sorry that I have no answers on GSS, I've literally only ever enabled it for the Gift Card feature.

OK I'll try that thanks :) Yeah it's a weird problem. As I said the guy that originally trained us and set up the program said he hadn't even seen it before...so obviously he didn't help us resolve it haha. What yahoo group are you referring to?

There is a Micros General and Micros e7 yahoo group that a lot of people communicate on.
