Is there a way in 6.5 to not allow access to the address book for certain users? Is there a way to allow users to send mail only internally and not to outside email accounts, ie aol?

Question 1 - not that I know of with out actually going to the client and removing the address book, but I don't think there is much to stop them from adding it back in.

Question 2 - yes, it is done in the access list for the GWIA object.

Good one :)

Create 2 domains
1 domain called BadUsers
1 domain called GoodUsers

Put all your bad users in a post office under the domain BadUsers
Make all their addresses System Visible

Put all your good users in post offices under the domain GoodUsers
Make all their addresses Domain Visible

That way your bad users can only address themselves or other bad users under the BadUsers domain. Users in the BadUsers domain will be unable to see any of the users in the GoodUsers domain.

This will require that you dedicate a domain and post office but if you have users that warrant it...more power to you.

RE: E-mail to external addresses
The tip from ProvoGeek is the answer. The Access List works well for preventing outgoing mail (or incoming for that matter). Works really well for stopping errant looping vacation rules.
