Address bar clogged!!!

Does anyone know how to clear/delete the history in the address bar? I have the address bar selected on my taskbar but the drop-down menu is absolutely FULL, there's literally thousands of previously typed in addresses [locally and internet, IE: C:\Windows\Desktop\Mp3'sthenwhateversongIplayed or

http://www.andso

on....

So, if I've had this thing two years you can imagine just how many times I've changed songs alone...how do I clear this?
I've cleared all the recent menus and taken that a step further, I've been using Evidence Eliminator but those history items still exist..any ideas? thanks ppl.......

In IE, Tools, Internet Options, delete your temporary internet files and clear your history.

What user type are these history items belonging to? If it is a limited user he may need to be promoted to Administrator so Windows can access the Registry Keys to perform a delete of these records.

All temporary files have always been deleted and kept up on, even Evidence Eliminator doesn't remove these items, Is there a way I could send someone a screen-shot of what I mean here? It might make it easier....... Nothing I've done has eliminated the history in the address bar....

disable AutoComplete (Internet Options -> Content -> AutoComplete)

There are options here to remember what you typed - disabling this should start it forgetting what you typed, and deleting the history ( :\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\History ) should take care of the rest.
