Hi

When I try to add new Host (AVP 7.1.3) using SDM client; I get the following :

“ Retrieving host certificate info is failed: The certificate received from 192.168.13.6 was issued for a different server. Secure communication cannot be established from Solution Deployment Manager to systems where the host IP/FQDN does not match the details in the security certificate. You may need to re-generate the certificate on your system to correctly match the host details or connect with the FQDN of the system rather than the IP address.”

Note:
The addition of AVP 7.0 is working probably.

Thanks in advance.

I just noticed you are connecting to the services port rather than the public interface. Is it possible to connect using the public interface? The certificate generated on the server probably has that IP address, not 192.168.13.6.

You could try doing a tracert from CLI to that IP and see if you get a FQDN?

SDM has some real issues when it comes to initial programming. Did you complete the AVP configuration using the KickStart file created in the SDM client? Does the SDM client match the 7.1.3 release?

This is VMware. Go into the CLI, verify the /etc/hosts files has the correct hostname/FQDN information. Run /sbin/generate-certificates. Reboot. Should fix your issue.
