I've got an application which uses a combination of graphic buttons, web browsers and numerous other controls. Searching the net, I have found a method of manifesting all the controls to follow Windows XP theme styling. I have implemented the code and was successful in everything but the two mentioned. Could someone aid me in manifesting them as well? Many thanks, James.

Note: The web browser itself has been manifested but the buttons within the loaded page does not. What I am seeing is something similar to when the "Internet Options > Advanced > Enable visual styles ..." has been disabled.

For graphic buttons, google for 'LaVolpeButton' activeX controls. Hopefully still a free download.

Thanks for replying. I've implemented what I searched for, and my graphic buttons are now working great. Any ideas about the web browser though? Many thanks again, James.

I've been conducting furthur searches on the internet and have found that I need to use the resXPStyles.res file. Removing my current manifester and implementing this file had the same effect as all my controls were manifested into XP, but quicker. I've decided to use this file to manifest, but I still have no idea how to manifest the contents of a loaded page within a web browser. Many thanks for the help so far, James.

Compiling the styles manifest into your application as an internal resource should indeed make for a neater package and improve application startup time.

I'm not sure that the Web Browser control can have the styles manifest applied to it though. Have you seen applications that do so? I honestly don't know.

Only runs on XP, also.

dilettante, as I mentioned earlier: an example of the internal web browser manifest is found in MSIE (as in my first post of this topic).

I just want to state in this post that I have found a solution: to manifest into VB.NET which has the XP styling in every control. Many thanks anyway guys, James.
