Good morning everyone,
I work on an Option 11C, running Sucession 3.0. There are 2 fiber expansion cabinets, and 2 IP expansion cabinets.
I have an existing ISDN span that consists of 2 T-1's. There is a primary D-channel on the first T-1, and a backup D-channel on the other. I am adding a third T-1 to the span which will not have a D-channel.
Here are my questions. First, can I insert the TMDI into one of the IP expansion cabinets with out downing the switch? The loop is programmed in LD 17, but is software disabled. I know that on larger switches, you must turn the hardware switch to disable or the PBX will reload, but the TMDI doesn't have a hardware disable switch.
Second, how do I associate the new T-1 with the existing D-channel. I have asked several local PBX techs, but I have gotten different answers. The best (or at least most common one) is that when I program the TN's as route members the switch will know what D-channel serves that route, but I have had some techs tell me I need to program this in software somewhere.
Any help you all can give me would be appreciated, Thanks, Jon K.
