I am very new to Storage. I have a CX 600 and I see that I have unused storage LUNS in SPB. I have moved the 50GB LUN to a storage group using Navisphere 6. On the Unix server side how do I see the new storage that of 50GB that has been presented? Thanks for your help.

You need to edit the lpfc.conf and sd.conf file in order to see the new storage. If you are not familiar with this file, please go to powerlink.emc.com

I was able to see and use the LUNS by using the following procedure:

devfsadm
format (you can run this against the disk or just run format go down the list and select the new disk and label it. From the menu you can simply say “l” for label). Make sure to pick the right device.
vxdctl enable
vxdisk list (New disk should be in the list now)
vxdisksetup –i <disk device>
vxdg to add disk to the existing disk group or create a new disk group.
