Adding Spaces to Listbox

Can anyone tell me how to add white spaces before lines of text in a Listbox. I have tried " Sometext" and      & "SomeText". The spaces show up whenever I view the ASP pages source, but not in the control. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using the ASP.Net Text Area. My problem is that when i click anywhere in the text area, the cursor is set to that position, now this is very annoying specially when there is no text in the control.
Somehow, can the position of the cursor be fixed to (0,0) or to the end of the text?
