We are currently running a LAN with a Windows 2003 server and a few Windows XP Pro computers using a Dlink switch.
We are using static addressing with the server being 172.16.0.1 and the other computers using 172.16.0.x.
To give us internet access we have installed a DSL line/modem and a wireless/wired router (The router is configured with PPPoE and DHCP and has four wired LAN ports). Each PC has a ethernet NIC and a wireless NIC. Ethernet NIC is used to talk to our internal network and the wireless to the router.
Ok, now for the question.
We would like to be able to get rid of the wireless NIC's
and plug the router into our network so the computers can get to the internet over our LAN. How can I configure our computers to get to the internet in this configuration?
Ultimate solution would involve our server handling the forwarding.
Any suggestions or advice would be appreciate.
