I have version 6.7.23 of Aloha. I'm set up with Quick Serve. I want to be able to view recipes from the POS so the cashier can tell the guest the ingredients on an item, and print the recipe to hand over to the people making the food. Our concept is very small, so we don't have separate kitchen printers, just the one at the POS. Can anybody help give me instructions on how to make this happen?

I tried going to General Settings under the item, and filling out the Recipe Information section. I put "1" in the "Print recipe frequency" space, and selected "Auto display recipe." I also typed in the recipe under "Recipe text." Is there something I have to do in the printer settings or the screen designer?

Thanks for your help!

Under store setting, there is an other check box to enable recipe. I just dont remember the tab its under, something to do with user interface.

Thank you, AlohaRoss. I already selected "enable recipes" in the store settings. Still doesn't work. Any other ideas?

Do the items that you have recipes assigned to show up on the FOH buttons with 3 red asterisks in the top left? If not the system is either not recognizing that recipes is enabled or it is not reading the recipe text files or is not able to read the contents of the recipe folder.

Do you have a view recipe button programmed on your system? If so does that work? I have never used auto display to force the recipe to display on the screen every time.

If I remember correctly there were versions of Aloha where the print frequency had to be greater than 1. That was way back and I would assume that is not the case but worth playing with.

Thank you for your response, posrescue. The FOH buttons have had the 3 asterisks on the bottom left of each button. I tried it with the print frequency at 1 with and without the auto display, and then tried changing the print frequency to 2 with and without the auto display. Nothing worked.

I didn't know there was a view recipe button to be programmed. I found it on the panel designer and tried it. It works now. However, the print frequency and the auto display did not change anything; it worked no matter what I did. I had four buttons with recipes all set up differently and they all worked the same oddly enough. Oh well, it works now. Thanks for the help!!
