Adding RAM to Server cause Network problems

NT4 server
increase the Ram from 1gb to 2 gb no problem except the network interface goes to hell. The server can only see machines on the first physical network segment ie anything plugged into the same switch as the server you can see, but nothing past that.
Reinstalling the drivers for the onboard gigabyte lan does jack. The only way I got around it is by sticking another PCI lan card in it.

THis has happened to 2 identical build servers.
Motherboard Super Micro P4SAA.

Any advice will be appreciated.

first of all , try to see some bios / board updates at the manufacturer site .

second : change the size of page file memory ..

Thanks, I've tried the suggested, both servers run happily with just 1gb ram.

Is it possible for you to take out 1GB of RAM from one of the current working machines and put it in to the other to create 2GB? i.e. Using your older, existing memory to create 2GB on one machine.

Does the server and network card work properly then? Could it be the wrong kind of memory for that motherboard/machine?

Also, check the NT event log and jot down the event IDs of any errors. Go to

to see what they mean and what fixes are available.

I've tested all the Ram, swapped them around etc. After increasing the RAM to 2gb, reverting back to 1gb and still the Gigabit lan cards only see 1st network segment (reinstalled etc). The only thing I haven't done is rebuild NT.

The Ram is not on the recommended list for the motherboard.

The blue screens don't occur with 1gb ram.
