I'd like to add a new Peripheral cabinet to the 3300, when i assign a unit number for the new cabin, a big noise devlope and a message comes up in the log telling dublicated cabin number, i checked the system and found all the available unit number2 are reserved in the NSU form, when there is no any NSU connected to the system, and the unit number field there is a system generated value can not be deleted!!
Any idea how to delete or edit the system generated Unit number in the NSU to assign this number for the new Per. Cab.??

Just pick a different number, it's simpler.

The system will accept anything up to at least 11

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

the allowed unit numbers are from 2-16 and all of them are used or reserved in different forms

I hardly think all the unit numbers from 2 to 16 are used. In order to connect a per node you need a dual FIM card installed and programmed in the sytem? Do you have one of those?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Thanks,

No, not all the units are used but the free ones are kept in the NSU form, i am trying to deassign a unit number to use it in the Per. Form,
Thanks,

Can you elaborate on what you mean by the NSU form as there is not one. Which form do you see the usage by NSU's?

As you can see above, the free unit numbers here, all are there in the Network Services Units form, when i don't use any NSU in the system, whenever i try to change this config. in the NSU form, it gives me Internal System Eror!!!!!!!!!

What in the above are you trying to change? It all looks correct? What do you have in the hardware modules form?

You currently have 4 peripheral cabinets which is what you can have on two Dual FIM cards. You have a T1/E1 framer. Therefore you are using 3 of the 4 possible spots for cards. Do you have a unused Dual FIM in the reamining spot? What you have here is the unit conf form and it shows info based on what you have done in other forms.

Yes I do have a free FIM for the New Cabin, as u c here; i am using only one port from module 4 & port 2 is free and suppose to get the new cabin;
