I am trying to add a paging system to my Merlin Legend 3.0. I have a Valcom 2001A and a Bogen TPU-35B. Im not sure which one i want to use, but im leaning more towards the Valcom. I have speakers and everything for both systems. I connected the Valcom to 802 on the Merlin and went into WinSPM and set the Paging line to 802. Thats about as far as i can figure out. I tried assigning 802 to one of the buttons on the phones but cannot get it to work. Any ideas?

Use the Valcom, and set it to CO Trunk input. Connect that to 802, and program it as a Loudspeaker Paging port. Program a button on the phone as #9802, which is Pickup Line 802.

If you use the Bogen TPU-35, you will need to add a UPAM or TAM-B to interface to the CO port, the Valcom 2001A has that built in.

Plug a cord into the 802 trunk position, which is the 10th opening from the botton on the 408 card, or the second trunk opening. The middle pair of that cord feeds your amp on the source, feed or "in" side.
You should be able to go off hook, touch the button assigned with trunk port 802 and access the paging.

does that help?

When I programmed the system I only had one co line programmed to all the phones in key mode cause we only have one line. Last night I added 802 to one of the phones and connected the valcom to the 802 port. I set the spkr page port to 802 and tried it but the light for 802 only turns red for a second then shuts off. When everything is hooked up and I do a status check on 802, it let's me busy it out but fails when retoring it. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. I think I am missing something.

No I didn't. I will try that as soon as I get to the firehouse tonight. Regarding the bogen, I found a pagepal with the system. However I don't really know what that is. I was given the entire system but it looks like there is more than one system. I guess an older system. So I'm not sure if the pagepal was for the merline legend or something else. Thanks everyone

Okay i turned the battery switch on the Valcom but still got nothing. I can hear noise in the phone when i turn the switch on and off so i am pretty sure its connecting to the valcom. I connected the same line to the BOGEN and was able to make a page. I rather use the Valcom but having the one working is better than nothing. I tried hooking music up to the Valcom and attaching a speaker to the Page + Music and didnt get anything out of the horns. Also, i noticed that the horns i have are not Valcom horns. They are standard 24V or 70V speakers. Could this be my problem?
