Hello all,

I'd like to add a paging amplifier to our system and am curious how exactly it ties into the system. I am consider the Bogen TPU-100 amp. None of the documentation I have on the 616 really tells me how/where it should be connected. I'd rather not have to have it set up through a paging zone if there is a way to avoid that. I'd like to be able to have one touch access to it thourgh our handsets (M7324) without having to enter a feature code and zone numbers. Any suggestions or resources? Thanks

the page output on a 6X16 is the V/Or and the way that you need to program the Feature is Feature 61 Plus Zone for sets
Feature 62 Plus zone for Speakers or Feature 63 plus zone for Both Phones and Speakers Enter a 0 as zone means all. Feature 630 for all Phones and speakers.
Hope that is what you needed. KDB

how about trunk access if you have spare then assign to line pool bogen tpu send a tone then you pick"dial" the zone number

Look at faq799-1797 for wiring pinouts on the 6X16, the 6X16 also has a page control for relay control of the TPU (used to cut background music and enable voice paging) I do not think that the 6X16 has an announcement tone but the TPU100 may have that.
For most small systems I program a button to be feature 630 and that gives you all paging possible.

You might try putting a telephone talk battery across tip and ring on one of the trunk cartridge lines, connect an appropriate audio matching transformer between the line and the Bogen amp and assign the line to the phones you want to have access to paging. When they press the line button, they're connected directly to the paging system.

Personally, I'd go for a packaged solution, like Valcom's V-1101A One-Zone One-Way Paging Adapter. Check out Valcom's site ( they may have exactly what you're looking for. There's probably a stocking distributor close by.

Thanks guys,

That was exactly what I was needing. I'll post a message when everything is done and let you all know how it went. Thanks again!
