I fairly recently got a Partner ACS R6 setup with Voicemail and with help from the forums was able to get my voicemail and front door phone working without a hitch. I have now gotten two new phones (actually new USED phones) Avaya 18's. I would like to set them up in my son and daughters rooms mainly for intercom purposes. I would like to disconnect the lines (2 currently) until they are older. The phones I got seemed to work well in an existing extension but when I put them in the proper rooms (Ext 13,14) I get a flashing green light on the bottom far right button. I tried to setup the auto dial buttons for intercom like I did the others but although it seemed to take when I press the button it actually dials the extension rather than just just going direct, I have the HFAI buttons selected on all phones.

Is there a way to just start from scratch with no settings for any buttons on those extensions. Ideally I would like to set up the lines on all the extensions and then just have them un-useable in those two rooms until needed.

Thanks in Advance

Paul

you could copy a non-existing extension to the ones you use.
from system programming go #399 then 57 (last possible extension) then the number you want to have copied to.
That will erase line settings restrictions and most other settings but NOT the button programming. THe Buttons you need to erase manually but copy first and you might have all buttons you need overwritten with lines.
But whatever the case your phone should always come up functioning on intercom at least.

If you can't be good, be good at it!

I have a mixture of phones right now 6D, 12, 18D (2) Euro, 18D MLS. Would the 18D's work even though they have the extra 4 buttons on top. I suppose I could try, nothing to lose.

WOW, thanks for the quick response.

P.S. - Sorry for the CAPS in the Subject

Sorry, didn't read what you said thoroughly. Copied 57 and got rid of the flashing Green light and now have Lines 1 and 2 where they should be. Still dialing the extension though on the programmed buttons rather than getting a tone and going direct to speaker.

When you program the extension buttons, make sure you put a * in front of the number; that indicates that you wish to voice announce rather than ring. So Feature 00, press the button, left intercom, *, and then the extension number. That should do it. Also - for future programming - you can delete what is on a button by doing Feature 00, press the button you wish to be blank, and pressing the mic/hfai button above the speaker. This will remove anything but line(s) assigned.

Thanks much, worked perfectly as you said. Two down one to go. Now I need to turn off line access to the two extensions.

Thanks Again,

paul

You could simply remove the lines from the phones with #301

You could set them for In Only, or No Access with #302

You could keep the lines on the phones, create a disallow list of "!" to block any outgoing calls other than 911

Once again the forum has come through. Just wanted to thank everyone for this quick fix, worked as expected.
