Adding new media

I am using Backup Exec with a HP StorageWorks. When I add new Import tapes to the StorageWorks in Backup Exec the Media show up in Blue. And I cannot backup to these tapes. If I try and wipe the tape Backup exec tells me the DLT is write protected. But the tab on the tape is not on write protect.

I just cannot get Backup Exec to work with these tapes.

Am I doing something wrong?

Blue means there overwritable. I think there is something configured wrong in the library or you dont have the latest Veritas Drivers installed.
You should be able to put the tape ina dn inventory the library or slots they are in. You could have the wrong media for the drive as well.
If they were used with another backup software you may have to use ntbackup to erase them with /nopoll option

Yup if its in blur color means that media you can overwrite. Problem is somewhere else. Check the log
