Adding Mac to a 2000 Network

Please help, total novice to mac's what do i need to do to add a mac to the network. Workstation and server procedures.

What are your goals? Do you need to share files from the Mac's harddrive? If not, then you simply need to plug the mac into the network and go.
he only way to go that's free, if you need to share files, is to enable Appleshare support on a win2k server (or workstation) and share out a drive/folder there for the Mac to see, and also share it out for the other windows computers to see. Then the Mac user must remember to save the work they want shared on that drive. When done correctly, the win2k share should show up in your chooser.
If this is OSX, then you'll need to setup either Samba or Sharity-light (both of which are free), but these are more difficult to configure. ________
