Adding Groups and Programming M2616 Phones

Hey everyone,

I own a Nortel Meridian PBX Phone System. Verison 2111 Release 23 Issue 18+. I am not a beginner to the PBX phone system, but I defently do not know how to do this. I want to be able to setup intercomm pagging through the phones. So if someone from a 2616 phone hits w/e. It beeps on all the phones, and then you can talk. Plus I do not know where the 8th key on the M2616 phone is. If anything can you tell me how to set up the M2616 phone to work with the intercomm.

If you are asking how to remove the current intercoms from the phones you need to do a change on each set and nul the key that has the intercom on it. You can't out the intercom group. But, for broadcasting through speaker simultaneously, I don't think there's anything you can use. If you set up a hotline that user A presses it can ring on multiple sets, but it won't come thru speaker...

Well how do u nul a key? I dont have any documentation for my phones

ECHG: YES
ITEM: KEY 8 NUL (just type in the key # and type the word NUL) at the next KEY prompt hit carriage return again. at item carriage return again.

I've tried that NULL thing and it keeps coming up with a error. If you dont remember, I am trying to delete phones out of the group or trying to delete the group period.

You're looking to remove the intercom key from specific phones, correct? What error code are you getting?

Now I have started a new group, since I am still un-knowledgeable on deleting a group. I am currently on my 3rd group.

When I go to add the 2nd phone into the group so the group can be completed this is the programming i put in.

And according to the book this is what SCH0362 means

SCH0362: Unable to match input field with stored mnemonics.


And every phone after that I do that with, it keeps doing the same thing. Please help !

On the part of deleting a group / phone out of the group!

NUL, not NULL. And does DIG 3 already exist as an R group?

No I added it as a V group and I even did a check on it to make sure it was a V

This is how I checked:

CUST: 0
I enter through until I see my groups.

Group 0000 and 0001 are in the R's and group 3 is a V

I am going to go try the NUL now

You can only voice call 1 phone at a time on the Meridian PBX.

So it will pretty much be useless then in trying to do a global page when you can just rather dial their extension. Do we have an alternative way in doing a global page. Like software etc.?

Get a norstar, it can page though all the phones, I don't know why they don't make it so you can page all phones on the PBX's.
