adding front USB to my case??!

hey everyone,

I am new here so... hi!

I recently got some cases, which have a flip panel which plastic slots where USB, firewire and sound ports can be added (i.e. just push the plastic slots out).

Does anyone know if these where just there for a higher model case, or if I can actually purchase the connectors to go in these gaps? If so, where from? (im in Australia, but any web site could be useful!)

I would start by contacting the case suppliers or the actual manufactures of your case, it makes sense that they either stock or could supply the appropriate wiring harness.

You also need an axtra USB connection on the motherboard or an add on card for USB. Same for the sound ports, and firewire.

yeah, my problem is though, its just a generic brand case, and there is no connectors on the actual case, so can I buy the connectors to fit to the front of the case? (the holes are already there)

I just found out the case brand is KME if that makes any difference!

Its not just the case. You will have to have the front usb setup, and somewhere on the motherboard to plug it in. The setup is a connector on one end and a small panel that pops in the front of the case next to the floppy. If your case has another 3.5 inch slot that is. There are also 5 inch panels to put it next to the CD-rom\DVD.
