I know this will seem like an easy question. I’ve just brought online a new AD server which will eventually replace our original unit – we always use two. Everything is running well expect the local AD hasn’t been updated with the Exchange schema. I just can’t remember which section from the Exchange 2K3 CD I should run on this new server to add all the Exchange functionality.

Regards,

John

You should not need to if it replicated properly when you did the DC Promo on your new DC. Your schema will be the same Domain wide.

What makes you think the Exchange schema hasn't replicated?

When I go into AD Users & Groups on the new server, I get no Exchange email options - just as if Exchange wasn't installed. I'm sure I have to install something from the original CD but not sure what.

All you need to install are the system manager software from the orginal CD and alos the service pack

As PhilUnit mentions, you have to have the ESM installed on that machine in order to see the Exchange related components. That means you have to install the prerequisites as well. Make sure the Exchange service pack that matches what's on your server is also installed.
