How do I do the above via WinSPM and manually with the cabling? I am new to an office and they currently have 100 DIDs punched down on 110 blocks with the following numbering scheme:

1/1 thru 1/24 6000-6023 (DIDs)
2/1 thru 2/24 6030-6053 (DIDs)

The analog lines are punched down on 110 blocks further down. We recently installed a new 24-port digital board and had the local telco add 60 DIDs to our ISDN PRI circuit. Basically I need to know how to I add 24 of these 60 DIDs to our Merlin Magix and physically how do I bring them down to the vacant 110 block. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

In general, the way it works is the D-I-D is assigned to a matching extension.

This requires programming in the telephone system to (1) accept the D-I-D (PRI) and (2) to have an extension MATCH the incoming D-I-D (System Renumber......Extension)

But knowing how your system is configured will be handy to know.

You probably want to print your Extension Directory as well.

By default, the new 024 module will assign 7xxx as the extensions. you'll need to go in and renumber each of those to whatever corresponding DID you want. so, say the first new port on the 024 is 7148, then go under system program, start, sysrenumber, single, extension, then enter the old extension (7148), then enter the new extension 6066 (for example). Now, that extension will be 6066 and should correspond to the DID ending on 6066.

That is, if your system is set to 4-digits and isn't manipulating inbound digits. If that is the case, as Merlinman stated, more info would be needed.

Thanks, all. Telecomboy is correct and we are not manipulating inbound digits.
