Adding D-Channel

I want to add a D-channel to this PRI card, I just dont know how.

There is a lot more involved than just adding the D Chan, The correct type of circuit will have to be ordered from the telco if this is an external circuit, then, depending on the type of PBX you are using and parts available, you may have to order additional hardware to do this on top of any programming changes.

you will have to take the old programming out for the current circuit. Make the loop a PRI in LD 17 CEQU, build the DH in LD 17 ADAN, make shure you have a MSDL port and cable or DCH daughter board to install and then rebuild the trunks in LD 14. Do you have a spare slot to build all of this in so you can keep the old circuit up?

You need to determine if you are using a CS1000M, CS1000E etc. They implement a d-channel in different ways.

On a CS1000M the d-channel can be created using a MSDL card or a d-channel daughter board on a Dual DTI/PRI card or similar.

On a CS1000E, the d-channel is software downloadable.

As trvlr1 indicated you need to know what kind of circuit you are getting from the provider.

note: dch daughter boards die on rls 5 and above.. i perfered those but had to replace 10 prior to the last upgrade.

may show you a vacant port on a msdl card.. the card is in the cequ as a pri, so out the trunks (ld 14 out 24), then the route data block.. add the d in 17, add the route and the trunks.. then dis msdk x all, enl msdl x fdl, the enll the loop.. sounds harder then it is, your looking at 20 minutes or so software time

If this is a working loop, then the very first thing you have to do is find the DCH that's running this loop and remove it from the programming, then you can start all of the other stuff mentioned above.

Were would i find the DCH that is running this loop?

this will print all your dch, then look at the PRI prompt and find the one that has 63 listed
