Hello all,

I am new to this but here goes:

I will be adding several 3500 xl switches to a 3com switch for a customer. However, i have been told to be concerned with Spanning Tree Protocol.

How should i go about this procedure. Do I just leave STP on by default and not wory or do i need to be concerned about integrating it with another vendors switch? Is there any information i can read about this? I have looked around but found nothing.

I know the scenario is vague.

TIA,
John

Please give a little more info'. Can you move the 3Com out to the periphery of your topology and use the Cisco switches as the core? That way you would not have to worry about the STP and the 3Com.

Which 3com switch is your "core" that you are adding to?
