Greetings all,

I'm a newbie when it comes to PBX switches. We have two new analog TN cards and we have not been able to enable them in the system. We have tried this so far,

LD 20
REQ: NEW
TYPE: CARDSLT
ENLU lll s c
and also tried
ENLL lll s c

after that we do,
STAT lll s c
and no TNs are shown

we also tried building a new 500 phone set using the new TNs and we get an error along the lines that the used superloop number is not in the database.

Any ideas?

What loop, shelf and card slot are the cards slotted in.
Then you can just copy/or make a new 500 line on the new card.

Also check to see if you have licenses for adding addtional analog TNS. (LD 22 slt)

Here it is,

004 0 12
and
004 0 13

I have not checked for available licenses, could you explain how to do this?

thanks.

LD 22
slt

to add the new TNS (if you have the licenses)
Try stat 4 0 12 to make sure you get "Unequiped" otherwise you can't do the below.

for the cards you could try (unless it's a split loop)

New
500
TN 4 0 12 0
ect....

or copy from existing 500 tn.

Checked licenses and we are good on that (we should be able to add about 32000 more TNs), but still no luck on getting the switch to recognize it.

Does the firmware of the card matter? the other cards already in the switch read Rel 3 where as the new ones read Rel 5. Our switch is rather new only about 18 mo. old.

Thx.

The entry you sould keep and eye out for is for example below, not the TNS
REQ slt
ANALOGUE TELEPHONES 40 LEFT 1 USED 39

LD 22
REQ: slt

reads

ANALOGUE TELEPHONES 960 LEFT 16 USED 944

the card's NT number says NT8D09BA

Should be good for 1 full card and 1 tn from the next card.....

what do you get when you:
LD 20
STAT 4 0 12

It sounds like the IPE shelf is split with 2 different superloops. Go to ld 97 and print XPE and SUPL and post please.

NPR0006 Card parameter out-of-range.

You don't Enable the card to use it, you just program a phone to it and it will enable automatically. You only have 1 Lic left, so you will need to buy more. you can put the cards in the system but won't beable to use them until you get more Lic.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Just as I thought. If you look at XPEC 01, Superloop 4 is set up for segments 1 and 2 which are card slots 4 thru 11. Cards 12 thru 15 are not available in this configuration. Contact your vendor for the proper configuration. This will require them to take the shelf down to redownload the XPEC.

004 STD LEFT 01 1 2 03 0 1 --- --- - ---

Loop 4 Xpec 01 should be set for segments 1 thru 3 to use the other card slots.

It should look something like this

004 STD LEFT 01 1 3 03 0 1 --- --- - ---

If you are doing this yourself LD 97 is where the configuration occurs. I don't know your knowledge level but if you look at the controller card it should flash C0 then 01 on the IPE shelf.

Glad to be of service.

acewarlock:

Read the post 2 down from what you read. What you were looking at was an example from another forum user. What jmsazul actually posted says that they have 16 licenses available.

jmsazul: Be aware you only have licenses for 16 more ports and you stated that you were trying to add 2 cards. You will have to purchase or convert more licenses through your vendor if you want to use all 32 ports.

Thank you all for your help, specially Triton101 and thphoneman. I finally realized what was going on because of tnphoneman's reply so I decided to try the card on another unused slot. When I did the console gave me a diffent error when I tried building a new set so I did the following to enable the new card,

LD 20
REQ: NEW
TYPE: CARDSLT
TN 12 0 3

and this time it enabled the card

I then typed STAT 12 0 3 and this time I got all the TNs listed. I built a new 500 set and it worked like a charm.

I will need to contact my vendor to get new ANALOGUE TELEPHONE licenses to be able to use the other new card.

Thank you all again.

You might want them to fix the last segment on the IPE shelf so it is usable also.
