Hello, I am new to supporting a Nortel PBX and I'm trying to figure out how to add an area code into the system....can anyone help?

First print an area code in the same state as the one you're trying to add:
REQ PRT
CUST 0
FEAT NET
TRAN AC1
TYPE NPA

NPA 1310 (example)

NPA 1310
RLI 4
SDRR NONE
ITEI NONE

Then at REQ type NEW and do everything shown above. When you get to NPA enter new area code. Keep in mind that BARS programming can be kind of messy and if you're a newbie it may be a bit tricky. But you can start by trying the steps outlined above. good luck.

Go to LD 90 do a
REQ PRT
CUST 0
FEAT NET
TRAN AC1
TYPE NPA
NPA XXXX (XXXX=1 PLUS ANY AC)

LOOK FOR THE RLI

Then do a
NEW
CUST 0
FEAT NET
TRAN AC1
TYPE NPA

NPA 1xxx
RETURN UNTIL YOU GET TO RLI THEN INPUT THE SAME AS YOU PRINTED BEFORE RETURN ALL THE WAY

Thank you both so much for your help! It is greatly appreciated!! I'm going to go give it a shot right now...I'll post my results in a few :>

It worked!!! Again, thanks to both of you for your help. I hope to learn a lot more from this site in the future!
