I have just upgraded my PDC from NT to 2K - OK so far! Even added a second DC no prob. A few DNS problems, though. My domain is company.com, but my users can't get to although they can get to any other web site. So I read up and discover I need to add an alias (CNAME) in my forward lookup zone with the IP address of my ISP's server. From a previous nslookup for I know the IP of my ISP who hosts my web site so I go to add an alias from my DNS console. The add an alias dialog prompts for 2 items (the parent domain is pre-populated) - Alias name, which I named www, and FQ name for target host. If this is where I am supposed to add my ISP's IP them somebody please show me the trick, cause it won't take the periods in an IP, although it will take the server name as listed in the nslookup.
