Hi Experts,
How can i add an AES server for the SMGR's inventory manualy (i can add, but no connection....)?
i tried with SSH and SNMP (V1), SNMP and SSH enabled on the AES server, community string is ok, but no luck...
when i try to refresh the affected AES element in the SDM's upgrade management, i always get an error (yellow triangle): trust not established, first establish the element trust, and try again (the re-establish connection was succesfull under the SDM's application manager)

i want to upgrade the AES servers from the SMGR's SDM.
The SMGR is the latest 8.1.3.2, AES is 7.1.3.x

Thank you

Did you add Avaya Aura® System Manager SUM Version XMl files to System Manager when you upgraded? Download pub ID is: SMGRSUM0001

avayaguy23
yes, from an internal http server
when i try to refresh the element on the upgrade management page, i got this error message:
AES_element_errorjpg_fbbtw7.jpg

under the element manager, access profiles, what should be the correct configuration for an AES instance?

AES_Access_profile_hdrhm3.jpg

i tested with SNMP and SSH, the SNMP agent configured and enabled in AES, and the SSH connection is working from putty.

any ideas are welcome

thanks

IMO, an easier/faster way to do this. Take an AES backup. Install AVP via cd. Connect server to SMGR SDM. Install AUS OVA via SMGR SDM and patch as required. Install AES OVA via SMGR SDM. Restore from backup. Install AES patches via CLI.

phoneguy55,
thank you.
that was my first idea, i will go ahead with it
but i can't understand why Avaya always pushing the upgrade from the SMGR's solution deployment manager, for almost all of the applications and on the other hand, there is no clear, step-by-step guide in the documentation..
so annoying..

megaa,

I agree with you. While SDM via SMGR is a nice idea, its just that. There are many things that simply don't work or aren't documented well. Also if you look at the time it takes you to upgrade something something via SDM, its often quicker to do it another way.

When I upgraded my Lab one using the SMGR it stops half way through, I restarted the services on AES and the upgrade completed

bignose21 thank you
but how did you add the AES element into the inventory of the SMGR for the upgrade? what was the connection type (URI, SSH, SNMP)?

no access profile assigned and nothing on the other two tabs:

But as you can see it upgraded
