Hello all, this is my first post, so please allow some leeway...tried reading through the forum, but can't find a fix for my problem. Here at our school we have a SV9100 with DT700 6 and 12 button phones. The system is set for 'Plug and Play' (10-46) with SIP port 5080. The original 6 button phones are H/W 09.01.03.00 F/W 05.00.08 and the original 12 buttons are H/W 09.01.06.01 F/W 05.00.01.00. We managed to pick up some secondhands 12 button phones but with H/W 09.01.04.03 F/W 02.02.08.08. I have done the hard reset via the phones maintenance menu, but now it keeps coming up with 'Incomplete config - reboot pending' and keeps cycling through every minute or so. I have IPPhoneManager8.2, but I don't think there is a firmware file I can push. There appears no 'Download menu' on this phone to instigate from the phone. I've set the Vlan etc and it is picking IP address, also I have got the TFTP running and I can see the affected phone trying to download it's *.cfg files (DT-macaddress.cfg DT-macaddress-local.cfg DT-macaddress-History.cfg DT-macaddress-directory.cfg DT-0000000000.cfg). It succeeds with 'DT-macaddress.cfg' only because I managed to backup from another secondhand phone (don't ask me how I did it...), by copying the file and changing the MAC address in the file title, but the existing 'newer' phones don't have this kind of download by the look of it. I'm thinking that the first thing I need to do is to flash the phone, but I can't see any firmware files. Does anyone know what the files are called please? The only file I can see is 'itzisipvg.tgz' which does contain 2 .img and 2 .bin files. The other thing I have noticed in this setup, there are 2 TFTP servers with respective root folders. Obviously only one working at a time, but both seem relevant as the 'normal' one has various files in, but the other (which I assume is brought into play at certain maintenance points) has this 'itzisipvg.tgz' in it. I have read the thread of February 2017 started by omia700 here on Tek-Tips and found it slightly helpful. It's quite a puzzle...but there again, I may not have all the pieces....hopefully this makes sense...;-) Oh and holding the 'Help' button does not give me any options on these secondhand phones :-(
Thanks for reading

second hand 12 button phones -
From your description it look slike those phones were used on a UC3 system. The UC3 system reflashes those phones to standard SIP when they are plugged in. That explains the phone looking for .cfg files. The NEC SIP flash uses the .tgz files and no tftp server is required. the system CPU is the server. Reach out to who you purchased them from and try to verify what NEC system they were on.

Thanks belvedere, I'm on a few days break, but back on the case next Monday (13th). From previous experiences, I've found that companies who supply systems like the phones, will only support kit bought from them...they won't be too keen to help, so I'm doing this 'blind'. When I return next week, I shall use the IP Phone manager to 'push' files by perhaps stopping the TFTP services and ticking the box 'Std SIP > NEC SIP' and experimenting. I shall report back then.

I have done a factory reset on one of my acquired DT700 12 button phones, setup a port on SV9100 with MAC and ext number as normal. On the phone, I went to Admin, SIP settings, Line1 and Account Name - add extension number, back to Registrar and check server ip = 'as SV9100' and port = 5080. Then went to Network, Advanced, LAN Port Settings VLAN ID = 'appropriate for our system'. VLAN Priority = 6
This has slowed the constant 'Incomplete config, re-boot pending' to a point where the phone sits there with a very empty screen save 4 soft key areas along the bottom and a phone icon in the top left corner, but no extension number. I have added Mac address in SV9100, I have also given the station port number an extension which coincides with the one I put in on the phone, but it still does not ' register' fully on the SV9100. Trying to push anything from IPPhone Manager fails, but somehow sets the phone back to the annoying 'Incomplete config, re-boot pending' looping. So then I have to go through the above sequence. I have contacted our phone supplier in the hope of getting a little further as I feel that I've gone as far as I can.

Sounds like your phone was reflashed for standard SIP and is no longer flashed for NEC SIP. We use "Pumpkin" to flash the phones. The files are too big to attach here.

Hello belevedere, on the windows machine that runs along side the SV9100 box, there is a Solar Winds TFTP server and there is also a TFTP service as part of the DAP Configurator program. As I said earlier, I have raised an issue with our support company but their response for this kind of work is 5 working days....when you say too big to attach here...how about 'wetranfer'?

Hi belevedere, sorry for delay in replying...always a hectic time when schools start up for the new academic year...anyway, thanks for the files...great. Question: as there are already 2 TFTP servers on the workstation which can connect to the phones using IPPhoneManager, what is the advantage in installing PumpKin? Won't any TFTP do...? Also, is there any info regarding which tgz file goes with which DT700 model...so far I'm thinking that a 'DT700 ITL-12D-1P' is a DT730DG but IPPhoneManager lists various models and their respective tgz files, but this appears for DT730 followed by the DT830:

...then:

...clarification would be good please...thanks.

I have now got some helpful feedback playing with certain things..... A basic DT730 (our DT700 ITL-12D as IPPhoneManager sees it...) is:
DT730_Basic_rjhd6q.png

...now the TFTP server service monitor reports this after trying out the 'SIP to NEC' 'Execute' command from IPPhoneManager:

SolarWinds1_lccldb.png

...as you can see, it's looking for 'itlisipv.tgz' - the phone being on 172.22.9.91

Then I put the 'itlisipv.tgz' file into the TFTP server root folder and this now happens...:

...any idea what 'code 0' means - not helpful...[sad]

Any tftp server should do. Pumpkin is just the one that NEC uses. I believe if you put all of those files in, the phone picks the one it uses. I do not know what error 0 means. Pumpkin might give a better error code.

Hello belevedere, will try another TFTP...meanwhile, I enabled the telnet connectivity and was presented with 'IP-Phone login:' but despite putting a password in the phone, next to the Telnet settings, I can't login. [sad]
...cheers

Hi belevedere, tried an alternative TFTP server, but same - not very helpful - error message. Anyway...our current support company have given us a 'good' deal on converting the existing kit, so I'm going down that route for now...but will be picking this up later in the winter. Just trying to do as much background research as possible in the world of VOIP...while we get the 'new school year' up and running[smile] Thanks for your help and suggestions...
