right now i have the following setup:

cable modem - firewall- 4 port netgear router
/ /
5 port cisco workgroup switch 3 PCs
/
2PCs 1 game system

i was wondering if there is any way to add a wifi hub in to this network keeping everything past the firewall impossible to get to

Can your Cisco switch support VLAN's? If not get rid of the netgear and get a Linksys WRV200 which will provide firewalling, wireless and supports VLAN's.

no the cisco switch dosent support VLAN's i will have to go pick up a Linksys WRV200 thank you for the tip
