Option 11c I've got a new line (loop start trunk) from the phone company and want to put it on a key on an existing 2616. I've installed a new universal trunk card and have built 8 cot trunks. From there I'm lost.
Anyone have a how for this?
Take a look at MerAssistant. I am a complete noob at switch management. I do have to call a technician for most things in my office. I often recommend to my customers Nortel compatible software. I found MerAssistant from RSI to be really cool (
TAnselm is correct, you want a private line. Since you have loop start trunks be sure to set up your BTID and test so that your trunk will dissconnect in a timely manner. Loop starts are fine as long as you can get them to disconnect and you may have to set your RGV timer in your RDB down to 256 so it will catch all calls.
It worked.
TAnselm, Thanks, the private line is just what I was looking for.
The outside line when dialed now rings on key 14 on a 2616. And for worldwidedialtone the forward diconnects work fine with the default settings.
I did use route 30.
Now can I MAP that key back to that trunk so I can also use it for an outbound call? Or do I have to build a SPN in BARS to get to it? My goal is to have this 2616 be the only one with access.
Thanks for the help.
The purpose of doing it that way is that he has instant access to the trunk. Press the Key 14 and he is already out on the trunk. You are already done.
Note: you can if you want add that PVR to more than one phone though if added to too many you kind of defeat the purpose. You can also add it to a phone as a PVN (Private line Non-Ringing).
Just remember if you need any other Private Lines to just build new COTS in Route 30.
Roger that.
My outbound didn't work because I had the route (RDB) set for incoming only. When I changed it to IAO it worked fine.
Thank you ever so much for the help. I'm good to go.
You're cool.
