Sorry if this has already been covered, I looked but couldn't find the information I need.
My company is running exchange 2k3 on a Win 2k3 server. We are acquiring a small company and moving them into our space, but they will need to keep their existing email addresses. They currently use a NT4 exchange 5.5 server that I want to disconnect.
I need to figure out the correct way to add a secondary domain to our 2k3 exchange server and enable them to still receive their email from our exchange server.

Thanks for the help

Update the recipient policy in Exchange System Manager. Go in to the properties of your default recipient policy and add a new SMTP address type.

If your new company's users are already set up in your domain, you can have Exchange update all their addresses with the new policy automatically.

Don't forget to make sure that externally that domain's MX records are pointing to your Exchange or gateway server.

If they're using OWA for external mail retrieval, I have found that it doesn't work unless the users also have an email address from the Exchange server's primary domain. Meaning the new company's users might have trouble logging in to OWA if they don't also have an address from your primary Exchange email domain.
