Hello,

I setup a TIE line between my Nortel and Avaya system. Everything is working great!

I am trying to add a second TMDI card to this existing trunk group to expand it from 23 channels to 47 and I am getting the following error message when I add the RTMB as 70 24.

SCH4788
PRI loop is not configured with D-channel (DCHI) to provide
B-channels.

Severity: Info

Loop 65 is the original TIE. I added loop 66 as the second loop. I am only using 1 D channel

Here is my CEQU data for the new card and loop.

I always use a separate dch for each t1. you only lose one channel, and if you need to do any kind of maint on it you can still run each t1 individually.

It's telling you exactly what is wrong. You never configured a D-channel for that loop

Here is the current DCH that I am using for TIE.

Do I need to add another for the additional loop if I am just expanding the original one?

Yes you do. Or you can share the D-channel if configured on the other end the same way

I just want to share the same D channel as that is what I am doing. As well the TMDI card I am using does not have the additional d channel board to support it.

Do a change on the d-channel and at the PRI prompt enter 66. You will more than likely have to disable the D-channel to do this

thank you I will give this a try after hours as I have to take down my d channel!

I use MSDL for DCH. 4 per card. What else are those things good for?

You cant use an MSDL Card with a TMDI. You can use Port 0 for a TTY port if needed. Other than that D-channels.

you can disable the DCH and not drop the T1. You just cant establish new calls while it is disabled. Calls already established will remain connected.
