Hi guys...

Having a small issue here. I'm trying to add a Print Server port to my servers for a linksys print server. However when I go to the ports and select to create a new port, I am unable to add the print server port... I get an error:Specified Port Cannot be added. The request is not supported.

Any info would be greatly appriciated.

Not sure on this, but why not try to add the printer using the wizard. Once created, modify its properties, select the port and configure a new port for the installed printer. Sort of going around it in a different direction.

What kind of port are you trying to create? A standard TCP/IP one?

Ash.

The printer itself is installed(Through the add printer wizard), however it is connected through a linksys print server. When I go try to add/configure a new port for the Print Server(this is the actual name option that windows gives, not a standard tcp/ip print port) I get the error that I mentioned in my first post.

This generally means the protocol isn't bound on the servers network cards so the port cannot be added. (this normally occurs with Appletalk). I don't know anything about the Linksys but I assume you have installed their own software onto the server? Maybe worth looking at their support.
Other thing to try to stop & restart the spooler service.

Have you installed the Linksys software on the server: the Bi-admin program and printserver software?

Yes, I have. I think that is the software that allows me to have the option for PrintServer when I try to create a new port.
