Hi,

I have an order number text box field on one a form which i need to be automatically filled with the prefix: 0405/

I have tried putting it in the default value of the text box's properties but it cuts off the first '0'.

Please can anyone help asap.

Thanks

In the format property of the field (in the table design) try "0405/"0000 (including the quotation marks).

I'm guessing that this field is an autonumber.

It is a Long Integer and order number is only an number field NOT an autonumber.

The the first '0' of the prefix is still cut-off, is this because it is a long integer?

Sounds like it. If it is an integer, you won't be allowed to use a forward slash either. Try changing the data type text field.

If the prefix is 0405/, and the rest is not an autonumber, then perhaps you could set "0405/" as the default value. The user will then have to manually add the rest of the order number code.
