Here's the sitiation:

We added another line to our system. It's showing up as line 027. I want this new number to only ring at the receptionists phone(M7310), which I've done. It comes in at the intercom button. The other 6 line buttons are all taken. How can I add this extra line to one of the buttons? Lets say the 'Last No.' button.

Also, I would like one other phone to be able to access this line. How do I set up this phone so that the last available line(4) be this new line?

I hope this is clear. It's been a long day...

Thanks executone, this worked fine.

Another question. Can I add voicemail to this new line. Basically, I want this line seperate from everything else. No extension and no AA. I know you can add guest mailbox's for people who don't have a phone or extension, but what about setting one up for a particular phone number? I'm not sure if this can be done.

Thanks, your help is greatly appreciated.

Well yes you can
But all you would have to do is assign this line to an ext. within your KSU and then assign a VMbox to that ext.

Then if wanted you can just set the set up to DND so all calls go directly to VM.
You can always get Telco VM such as Call notes and just not assign this line to a any thing.

Next question is do you have Startalk Call Pilot or Nams.
I am lookin thu my Call pilot PDF right now to see if there is another solution to offer.

Hi Mario,

We don't have Startalk Call Pilot or Nams. We have Flash 2.0.10. I'm not sure if I follow your first option with assigning the line to an extension within the KSU. Sounds to me like this might work, but not sure how to go about it.

Any courses out there I could take for this stuff. My knowledge is very limited. All I have is a few guides. Thank god for this forum.

Thanks again

You have to make the line ring or appear/ring on an extension. Then goto voicemail and creat a mailbox for that extension.

Adding a Voice Mail Box:

Feature 983
LOG: 120000 (2 digit ext's) or 1020000 (3 digit ext's) or 10020000 (4 digit ext's)

Press OK
Press MBOX
Press ADD
<Display> MBOX:
Enter New Mail Box Number
<Display> EXT:
Enter Extension Number (Note: if building a guest mailbox, press QUIT)
<Display> Service Class:
Press 1
<Display> Name:
Spell the name of the person assigned to the mail box LAST name first.
<Display> Directory?
Press YES (Unless the user wishes not to be in the directory)
<Display> Msg waiting?
Press YES (Unless you are building a GUEST Mail Box)
Outdial:
Press NONE
Press * (asterisk)
Press RELEASE

Good Luck!!

Scenario:

The new line I added is at the receptionists phone, so it already has an extension and voicemail. The line works, but essentially, I would like this line to have voice mail.

Thanks

I would set up a dummy ext/unused port lets say ext 400 on port 116, then put an answer key on the receptionist set to answer ext 400, create mailbox 400 and assign ext 400 to it, go into mailbox 400 and seup off prem notification to be INT at the recepption set so that reception will get notified of messages in that box, tag the port 116 you used saying DO NOT USE X400.

I'm having trouble with this curly. Could you or somebody step me through this.

Again, sorry for being a pain in the a$$, but I got tossed into this. Just like playing cards and going in blind everytime.

You guys/gals have been very helpful.

Two Mailboxes and One Extension:

Actually you can have two mailboxes notify the same ext. Create the first mailbox I.E., 224 assign to ext224 with message waiting, Y. Then create guest mailbox IE., 400 then go into F981, Log: 300 0000. Change the password and record name IE. "Danny".
After logging into the box 400, go into admin then press 6 to set up message notification. It will say not initialized, then the screen will show EXT: enter in 224. Then set the times that you want to notify the extension (8am-5pm). After a message is left in mailbox 224, it will show up in the display as 'Msg for you'. If a message is left for mailbox 400, the voicemail will actually call the ext. When the person answers the phone it will say that there is a message for "Danny". Then in the screen you'll see a softkey Log in button, press it and log into mailbox 400 and get the message.

Good luck!!

That is great info executone. But unfortunately doesn't solve my problem.

So I take it that I can't setup this new line with voicemail without it having an extension.

I might just setup this line on a seperate phone, instead of the receptionist. Then I can have voicemail. Unless there are other ideas out there.

Thanks

Basically you make that line ring on a spare extension that does not have a phone attached to it. Then you progrm a answer DN on the operator phone. Then you go into voicemail and program the directions above so operator knows there are calls in voicemail.

Good Luck!!

Ok I just tested it here at home and works like clock work so let me reword my post above.
I set up a 6X16 DR5 with a Flash VM 2.0

I created a Mailbox #30 and told it ext 30.
went into admin of mailbox 30 and setup off prem to be internal to EXT 21.
I went into line access for ext30 and assigned line 1.
I then went into capabilties under ext30 and set call forward to voice mail after 2 rings.
I assigned line 1 at ext 21 as appear only.
Then I went into line access for ext 21 and gave it an answer DN key for ext 30

Tested it by phoning in and it rang at ext 21 on my answer key for ext 30 and went to vmail at mailbox 30 like almost clock work....I say almost because since I set ext30 fwd to vm after 2 rings it took on the timer of 21 after 4 rings then went to MB 30 but still it works :)
So the above instructions

Why don't I have off prem notification in mailbox admin? Or am I missing something.

Ok, here's what I did. I created a new CCR tree for this line. It has the option to leave a message in two mailboxes. One of them being a guess mailbox.

Thanks for all the help.
