Hi folks,

I was wondering if it were possible to add a help file to a form? This would be great for allowing people to easily read a document on how to use a database!!

Any help would be great!!!

Dracus.

Hallo,

There are several ways to do this:
1. You can create a popup form with the help in a giant label (or lots of smaller labels)
2. You can create a button which opens up a help document in another application, say Word.
3. Create a Help file using the standard MS Help.

I'd say option 1 would be very fiddly, difficult to update and might not look too nice.
Option 2 is much the easiest, especially if you are going to write a user Guide anyway.
Option 3 is arguably the most professional. I've never created a Help file, but I think you need a Help compiler of some sort. If you go this route, I'd submit a new post asking for help on that.

I think no 2, on Frinks list would be appropriate, as i'm on a strict time limit.

How could this be achived? I cant seem to find any specific control within access to get the file to run. I can run word no prob but a specific file is the problem.

This would be much appreciated. Thanks.

One way is to put a label on your form and and put in the path to your help document in the hyperlink address properties of the label i.e
